Random Rant vol. 18: MJJ, singles, 50!

I have to add my two cents about the greatest entertainer/musician of the 20th century (and most likely the present 21st century) to add to the millions of blogposts, video tributes, song tributes and celebrity speeches...i remember when i was about 5 or 6 years old sleeping in a long gray t-shirt (prolly like size medium) with the words "Beat It" and MJ posed in large print...i know i wore it everynight until i eventually grew out of it...its been 4 days since he passed and I still can't believe Mike died at the age of 50...

Though he did some freaky things (bleach his skin, change is nose 80 times, hangin kids off balconies) he still had this aura about him that was genius and excellence...think about it, when MJ released a single on the radio in the 80's and early 90's (this is when radio had good songs on the air) did you really not like it...No, you always liked the song he released even if it wasn't your favorite...on every album he released since his first solo album, Off the Wall, he released at least 4 singles...that fact alone is insane...

i was looking on amazon.com just to look at the song titles from each album to see what was released as singles...if you look at the Thriller album, he released i think 7 singles from the 9 track album...that is ridiculous!!! (now you can barely get an artist to drop 2 good singles from a 17 track album) that's probably why its the highest selling album of all time...i also discovered that in the 80's when it released 10% of the American public owned the album...there will NEVER i mean never be another artist to sell albums and have an impact on the music industry like that...

i can go on and on about his album sales but i'll save you the trouble of reading stats...i'll end it by sayin, i moonwalked on wood floors with church socks on cuz of Mike and tried to lean forward like the Smooth Criminal cuz of Mike...all of his videos are legendary but Smooth Criminal was that joint (goes and downloads Moonwalker dvd or vhs from the 'net)...he will be missed and i still can't believe he died so soon like i couldn't believe Biggie died in '97...i guess all the greats die early (Bernie Mac, 2Pac, Big L, Big Pun, Jimi Hendrix, Jam Master Jay, Marvin Gaye, Pimp C [i know Pimp C is a stretch but he and Bun B were/are southern rap before it became nationally known])...
damn even Billy Mays died at the age of 50 (the OxiClean and infomercial guy)...what's really goin on
holla,
(4o)ur
