Stuff of hilarity: the iron high jump

Once again I'm back with another post of my broheim getting exploited by his roommate, TO Polk...this now makes the 4th video i've seen of him doin somethin retarded and hilarious...i don't have any more words, just peep it and chuckle at the hilarity...(What possessed them to even think of this? Did they see some old Olympics video from '92 and got inspired to perform some olympian tasks)

Innovations: Google Voice

I'm tellin you the innovations and software Google creates is simply amazing...the great thing about Google is that there software is FREE (really is absurd cuz they offer such great software)...they offer Google Maps on your mobile device (just as good as GPS but for free), Google Earth (incredible and scary at the same time. They take pics of your home!!! Scary ish), their incredible search engines (Google.com and blogsearch), blog services, email with huge storage space and now Google Voice...i'm just finding out about this even though i got a little insight from fellow blogger T.O. Polk (topolk.blogspot.com) about this innovation...

i'm not going to try and explain it just peep the link and learn...i wanna work for this company cuz they're growing and i heard the work environment was like a playground for adults...Google will take over the world afterwhile especially when they get this operating system working that's also probably going to be free (I-N-credible)...

Crooks and Castles fisherman hat

With so many clothing lines out, i had to pick about 4 and just rock with those (Rocawear, Crooks & Castles, Undrcrwn and Levi for jeans, i would say my joint mARCandE but i've been slack and not printed a shirt out yet)...i dig Crooks & Castles' fisherman style bucket hat (shout out to EPMD)...i bought the black one from a store in Columbia, SC (i couldn't believe any store from my home state of SC carried any reputable streetwear lines but a store in the Sandhills shopping area carries it along with Sneaktip)...
Crooks produces some ill fitteds and shirts!!!...
i gotta get the carolina blue like the one shown...

Random Rant vol. 18: MJJ, singles, 50!

I have to add my two cents about the greatest entertainer/musician of the 20th century (and most likely the present 21st century) to add to the millions of blogposts, video tributes, song tributes and celebrity speeches...i remember when i was about 5 or 6 years old sleeping in a long gray t-shirt (prolly like size medium) with the words "Beat It" and MJ posed in large print...i know i wore it everynight until i eventually grew out of it...its been 4 days since he passed and I still can't believe Mike died at the age of 50...

Though he did some freaky things (bleach his skin, change is nose 80 times, hangin kids off balconies) he still had this aura about him that was genius and excellence...think about it, when MJ released a single on the radio in the 80's and early 90's (this is when radio had good songs on the air) did you really not like it...No, you always liked the song he released even if it wasn't your favorite...on every album he released since his first solo album, Off the Wall, he released at least 4 singles...that fact alone is insane...

i was looking on amazon.com just to look at the song titles from each album to see what was released as singles...if you look at the Thriller album, he released i think 7 singles from the 9 track album...that is ridiculous!!! (now you can barely get an artist to drop 2 good singles from a 17 track album) that's probably why its the highest selling album of all time...i also discovered that in the 80's when it released 10% of the American public owned the album...there will NEVER i mean never be another artist to sell albums and have an impact on the music industry like that...

i can go on and on about his album sales but i'll save you the trouble of reading stats...i'll end it by sayin, i moonwalked on wood floors with church socks on cuz of Mike and tried to lean forward like the Smooth Criminal cuz of Mike...all of his videos are legendary but Smooth Criminal was that joint (goes and downloads Moonwalker dvd or vhs from the 'net)...he will be missed and i still can't believe he died so soon like i couldn't believe Biggie died in '97...i guess all the greats die early (Bernie Mac, 2Pac, Big L, Big Pun, Jimi Hendrix, Jam Master Jay, Marvin Gaye, Pimp C [i know Pimp C is a stretch but he and Bun B were/are southern rap before it became nationally known])...
damn even Billy Mays died at the age of 50 (the OxiClean and infomercial guy)...what's really goin on

Innovations: 32 GB SD card

i remember when SD cards were retailing for 40 plus dollars and they only had like 128 MB to 512 MB of space... btw stores like CVS and Rite-Aid should be fined by the government for still selling SD cards (1GB or 2GB) for 80 DOLLARS...who in the world would buy that when you can go to wal-mart and get it for a fraction of that price or go to eBay and get it for 10 to 15 dollars...

anyway there's a SD card made for HD cameras and the macbook that has a crazy 32 GB of space...it amazes me how much info can be stored on small storage devices (an iPod classic has a minimal storage space of 120 GB, i need to upgrade cuz i still got the 30 GB 'Pod)...

Muthaf*&$#!!! - i'm hatin

Foxx kissed Halle Berry on the Spike TV 2009 Awards show...it airs June 21st and to be clear i'm no hater but i'm hatin on Foxx for his grope and tongue of the timeless beauty ...fuck you Jamie, damn u!!! (btw i think J. Foxx has got to be the most talented all around artist of my generation. Crazy funny, superb actor and has a genuine, authentic singing voice.)

Random Rant vol. 17 - A death creates life

First off let me start this rant off by saying THANK YOU Jay cuz somebody finally had the cojones to say stop all this autotune music making...This song by Jay-Z stated everything i thought was f'd up about the hip hop game right now...from dudes wearing slim fitting, nut sack huggin, form fitting jeans to rappers tryin to sing like T-Pain throughout the entire song to dudes just not actin like dudes no more...

When my brother told me about the song 2 weeks ago on a Saturday, i downloaded and seriously listened to the track 25 times in a week...everything about the track was ill, from the production by NO I.D. to Jay's precise and direct lyrics about what's fucked up about the game right now...hopefully since the God MC said that its the death of autotune it will truly be the death of autotune...Jay has this crazy effect on the hip hop culture where if he says somethin then the game changes....i.e. in '04 when he started to rock button downs instead of throwbacks then the jerseys went out of style...or "when he was drinkin Cristal when all yall bitches thought it was beer and shit" (line from 'Imaginary Players' on the In My Lifetime vol. 1 album circa '97) people then started to drink Cristal...or when he started to use the word 'swag' everybody started using the term and putting into their style (btw that term is so overused i officially stopped sayin it. Somebody should just kill that word, damn!)

The jiggaman is not the only artist speakin out against the "Moist Movement" (word to Tariq Nasheed- check out http://macklessonsradio.com/index/episode-192-the-anti-moist-movement to see what i'm talkin bout) ...my other fav artists the LOX (Sheek Louch, Styles P and Jadakiss for those not in the know) have been rappin about autotune and ringtone rappers & feminine dressin dudes for a minute, especially Styles P...for example of artists that support A.A.M.M. (Artists Against Moist Music) listen to L.E.G.A.C.Y.'s track called T.K.O. -http://www.zshare.net/audio/61148745b5c56e24/ ...listen to Sean Price's verse at the end especially...

Just to stress the point, I just don't even understand how dudes can rock "nut hugger" pants(shout out to Duane Martin in the flick Above the Rim)...how the fuck do they even piss in public without pullin their pants all the way to their knees like a 2 year old lad...as my brother says, these dudes wear too many colors and he said that 2 years ago before it got out of hand and super popular...i gotta agree and stress the point with "You niggas' jeans too tight/You colors too bright, your voice too light/I might wear black for a year straight..." - Jay-Z -D.O.A.

R.I.P. autotune for rappers (only Roger Troutman [RIP] and T-Pain should use it)...i don't like Ron Browz usin it (prolly the only way he could get his voice on a track), didn't like Kanye doin the entire album usin it (would have been a ill album if he rapped more cuz the beats are ill), Lil Wayne distorts is voice so much that i can't understand what the fuck he's sayin (like what is he sayin in the T-Pain cut "Can't Believe it", seriously one part of his verse it sounds like a robot's voice being slowed down on a old record player)...

and I don't understand why artists who can sing use autotune like R. Kelly...you are a legendary artist, stop following trends and create dope trends like you used to (can we please get another TP-2.com or Chocolate Factory like album. No more following whats trendy Kells, no more)...thanx and good nite

Stuff of hilarity: Diddy's twin

This is scary how Diddy's son lookes exactly like him...i can't believe how similar they look...its like Puff created a mini-me... i wonder if lil diddy can do the puffy dance his Pop's used to do in his 90's music hey day...

btw i haven't posted a rant in a while but its comin cuz i gotta talk about the God MC's newest song and how it relates to the current state of hip hop and how i feel about it...

Random Rant vol. 16: Rihanna's in the top 10

First off i'm goin to start by sayin "GOOD LAWD RIHANNA SURPRISED THE PISS OUT OF ME" (yeah i'm in all caps to show how serious I am)...i know the pics of Rihanna have been released on the 'net for about a week and better now, so this post might be late to all you internet geeks (that includes me too)...i felt i had to let the pics marinate before i could comment on it...

When i saw the naked flicks i had the open mouth jaw drop like a looney tunes character (though the pic below is a Disney character)...
Rihanna is no doubt attractive but i didn't know that her body is "bangin like a benzi" (Listen to "Ice Cream" - Raekwon ft. Ghostface Killah, Cappadonna, Method Man to see where i get the line from) ...my gawd, where did that body come from cuz it is stellar!...the "cans" are superb, the thighs are spectacular, face is A+ and the "backyard" is incredible...those 7 pics that i got changed my mind about Rihanna from a cute R&B/Pop singer to a bangin female artist that is now in my top 10 (rivaling the body of Meagan Good, seriously)...
if you haven't seen the pics, just google it and find em (i would post em here but imma make you search for 'em)...i'm gonna stop talking cuz after while i'm goin to sound creepy and sad...so i'll leave with this- COTDAMN! RIHANNA IS TIGHT AS HECK!!! GOOD GOOBLY GOOP, THAT THANG IS JUICY (wow, i used a line from a horrible Project Pat song)!!!

Innovations: Punch-out on Wii

Back in the late 80's, Nintendo blessed us young gamers with a classic....the game was Mike Tyson's Punch Out! ...Nintendo revived the game sans Mike Tyson and Mario as the Ref...they do have Lil Mac and Doc on the game with most of the classic fighters (Glass Joe, King ,the middle eastern fighter with tight fitting turban, etc.)... check the youtube Nintendo Wii commercial

Stuff of hilarity - Yogi's Clemson Slide

It's already been posted on T.O. Polk's blog but i gotta put it on mine...like the 92G dance video this is pure hilarity...two things to think about 1)how did he get the opportunity to steal 2nd base between innings (something designated for little kids) 2)the slide is ridiculously rough i.e. butt bad...check it and laugh

Random Rant vol. 15 - Busta is longevity

Joe Budden put it best in a 15 plus minute song titled "Who" where he raps about who killed hip hop (ill great track that you hafta listen to, that was split into 3 parts cuz of the length of the track...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teQC0rKl884) when he said "a million Busta albums he still not mentioned with the G.O.A.T." at the 4:33 mark...Ol' regular Joe opened my eyes to the fact that, Damn! Busta is one of the few Hip Hop artists that is extremely lyrical, charasimatic and talented that has stood the test of time...

Let's look back...he started his career with L.O.N.S. (Leaders of the New School for those that don't know) and was clearly the stand out...you could tell he was when he was on Yo! MTV Raps with LONS and he spit a few lines that showed his stand-out star ability (btw the group incredibly broke up during the taping of the episode)...he launched his solo career in '96 with "Woo Hah, got you all in check" single off "The Coming" LP....it was a smash single and every since then he's dropped a solid album for 12 plus years...

yea he did have a couple of stints where he didn't drop a album for a 3 to 4 years ('It ain't safe no more'-2002 to 'Big Bang'-2006 to 'Back on my B.S.'-May 2009) but during those breaks he was always featured on other people's joints...there have been many summers where i remembered he was on everybody's song...everytime he's on the track he damn near steals the song from the original artists (i.e. A Tribe called Quest ft. LONS - Scenario (remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFZLq6R-ZtM&feature=related)

...also even though he may say some crazy stuff (especially earlier in his solo career) his lyrical skills are second to none...then to add his voice sounds like nothin you've ever heard...hell, his laugh is even crazy (Busta's and Jadakiss' laugh is weird, unique and funny) ...on the visual side of the spectrum, his videos are quite entertaining (unlike the normal ass shakin [tho i love ass shakin], jewerly flossin, gangsta braggin facade rap videos) check the videos 'What's it gonna be', 'Woo Hah! got you all in check', 'Woo Hah!' rmx with ODB, 'Put your hands where my eyes can see' (still can do the dances in the vid) & 'Gimme some more'
so go and find the albums and listen to the great B. Rhymes...you will be entertained...i'll leave you with a discography and his latest mixtape that dropped May 5th before his new LP "Back on my B.S."

New Mixtape fully tagged - "I Bullshit you not" mixtape

Random Rant vol. 14: Twattin' on Twitter

WARNING: I'm going to sound like an old fart complaining about new stuff. You've been warned.

It took me a long time to finally get around to creating a profile on facebook and it took me just as long to create a myspace page...the only reason why i created a facebook profile was to use the movie queue application for blockbuster since the blockbuster.com movie queue was screwed up on my account...but since i did create one i've been on the wretched site everyday reading and confirming friend requests (cotdamn Facebook and their easy way of connecting of old high school and college friends)...

i got suckered into those social networking sites but i refuse to get pulled in by the newest internet social networking craze that is retardly (not sure if that's even a word) named Twitter...in my honest opinion i do not see the point of telling people every minute of the day what i'm doing...Hell, on my status section on facebook i don't even say what i'm feeling or doing...i just quote an ill hip hop verse on it and plug this blog...

Why in the hell would i wanna tell you "3 minutes ago i sat in my chair and watched an episode of Andy Griffith" then "at 9 o'clock i went upstairs to take a piss and it was stinky, lol"...that shit just seems so trivial to tell total strangers what i'm doing...i honestly don't think people give a rat's cooter (country reference like saying rat's ass but in this instance i'm sayin Rat's Vagina) what i'm doin...i don't think i'm that special that people wanna kno my every move...

now i have people that i'm real cool with that twit (or twat or have twatted or have twitted...whatever the hell you call past tense twittering) on twitter and that's cool but i can't subject myself to tell what i feel and/or doing...shit, i don't like expressing my emotions in person to close relatives or friends so i kno i'm not gonna tell random strangers across the world...plus i don't need anything else to get addicted to because i'm already addicted to my blackberry that has a myspace and facebook app and texting and the internet and google maps (that app is incredible, forget paying 10 a month for GPS service)....
with all that said, check my blog in 2 weeks and i'll give you my twitter name....Damn this mindless technology!!!!
