We are in full swing of the NFL postseason and the 1st weekend didn't disappoint...the only game that was a dud was the KC vs. HOU game where it was a blowout (B. Hoyer stunk it up with 4 INTs)...The Steelers vs. Cincy game was incredible (Cincinnati gave the game to Pittsburgh) and A. Rodgers looked like Aaron Rodgers lighting the 'Skins up...But the ending that was unbelievable was the Vikings vs. Seahawks game...Blair Walsh missed a chip shot FG (27 yards which is shorter than a extra point, 33 yards) to win the game....the only thing better than watching the game are authentic fan reactions to the game...enjoy....

Stuff of hilarity: Did Mike Ditka fart on NFL Countdown?!
When you get to a certain age you just don't give 0 F*$s about anything...that includes how people feel when you say something, what anybody thinks of you and apparently farting in public for everyone to hear...this is knee slapping funny (especially for me because I always thought the fart noise was amusing and will til I'm 80 years old)...you be the judge and listen if that's Mike Ditka releasing is toxins in the air (also check Cris Carter's facial expression after the noise)...check it

Spreadin the real: Doug Williams 1st and still only (BHM)
So for black history month I want to recognize Doug Williams, the 1st black starting quarterback to play in the Super Bowl (only 2 have played since, Donovan McNabb and Steve McNair) and the only black quarterback to win a Super Bowl...Doug Williams went to Grambling State University and played for the Tampa Bay Bucs & Washington Redskins in the NFL...during Super Bowl XXII he was the first QB to pass for 4 TDs in one quarter and a half...salute to Doug Williams #17 one the 70 greatest Redskins of all time (kinda gnashing my teeth to say that because I'm a Cowboys fan)

Deion Sanders HOF speech
I still say Deion is the best CB the NFL has ever had...i liked his style and skill even when he was on the 49ers and beat the Cowboys in the NFC championship in '94 (I overlooked it though because he signed with Dallas to help them win the Super Bowl in '95)...like his career, his HOF speech was incredible....peep it..

Random Rant vol. 30: The Vick Redemption

I like to see when anybody can correct their bad decisions or misfortune and turn it into a 'rags to riches' -esque story...although in Michael Vick's case he already had riches so its a 'riches to rags back to riches' story...i said in a previous rant that once he started winning games all of those animal loving Philadelphians that boycotted outside of Lincoln Financial Field would go away and whatta ya know, you see no boycotting of Vick now...in America regardless of your crime or mishap if you produce money or win games you get forgiven...don't get me wrong, their are some people that still wanna see Vick fail and stumble...its just that you don't hear them now because he's doin so well on and off the field...
The Monday Night Football game against the Redskins further solidified Vick's redemption as he threw for 4 TDs and ran for 2...even if you're a hater you must recognize and realize Vick is an incredibly talented QB that the NFL has never seen before and right now is 1 of the top 10 QBs in the league...Vick congrats and maybe Nike will be calling you for an endorsement deal again...
p.s. - remember haters gonna hate

Spreadin the real: Mark Schlereth goin off bout the NFL
I have to say that the head hunting hits (where tacklers lead with their head to hit the offensive player in the head) that players should be fined...but otherwise they shouldn't...this past weekend we saw a lot of hard hits in NFL games...perhaps least hardest hits were from James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers...he got fined $75,000 for legal hits (he didn't get flagged for in the game)...he's so upset that he's stated he may retire because of the rules the NFL are instituting and enforcing...in my opinion hits are a part of the game and the NFL is on some bullshit for their fining of Harrison...here's Mark Schlereth on ESPN goin off on the NFL...peep it

Deion Sanders aka Primetime aka Neon Deion #34!?
The most entertaining, athletic and feared cornerback/kick returner in NFL history has got to be Deion Sanders...absolutely entertaining to watch, I was pleased to see "Primetime" join the 'Boys back in 95 to help Dallas capture the 3rd title in the 90's...I remember watching games where the opposition would not even throw in his direction...I mean literally they would not throw in his direction because of his blanket coverage and potential for a "pick 6"...here's a clip of Primetime upset for being selected as the 34th best player in NFL history...he's a little ticked off at his ranking and should be...he should at least be in the top 20, he was the epitome of the shutdown corner...peep and be entertained
here's some bonus footage of Deion as "Powder" from How High

Random Rant vol. 20: The Vick Experience

As the day draws near to seeing vick in a eagles jersey in a game, the animal rights nuts are coming full force. Personally, I'm glad to see Vick back on the field simply because of his wow factor. Now let's get into the meat of the subject at hand. Should Vick be able to play in the nfl? He should because he paid his debt to the govt by serving damn near 2 yrs in the 'clink'. Now don't get me wrong, what he did was completely heinous and quite inhumane. I kno he funded the operation but i don't kno if he killed or maimed or administered the terrible actions against the dogs. But if he did do that then its f'd up. People say that NFL is insensitive to animals and just cares bout money, well shit that's true. The NFL has already punished him for a season and possibly half of another one. They are doing the same as the govt, giving him another chance.By the way, the govt really didn't care all that much about the dog fighting but rather the gambling and illegal activity over state lines. That's what he served his time for, illegal gambling and funding of an illegal activity over state lines, not the dog fighting. So I guess the federal gov't is insensitive to animals too. (Federal gov't only cares bout money too, point blank period. If you get money the wrong way they'll get from you from fines or jail time).
What do these protestors want Vick to do with the rest of his life? He already served the time, is he just supposed to live in obscurity forever. There's damn near been more of an uproar over Vick than 0J and the murders (and he supposedly killed 2 PEOPLE. I know I know, he did that shit). I thought this is ideal objective of prison, to have the prison rehabilate a guy so when he gets out he could live a prosperous legal life. Seems that's what Vick is doing.
Another thing I noticed was the racial divide on the issue. Most white people think he shouldn't be allowed to make millions of dollars while most ethnic people say he should. I don't have a clear cut answer why this is but I think its because ethnic people don't value a animal's life like a human's life. Since some ethnic people think they are being mistreated from other people (most likely white people. Don't misinterpret me, I'm not racist..i was in a relationship with a white female for many years [Damn that's some cliche ish to say]), they don't have the mentality that animal's life is a valued as equal to theirs.
All I kno is people that watch football and some Eagles fans are saying they won't watch an Eagles game. That is complete bull, cuz as soon as kickoff week begins they'll be sitting right there in front of the flat screen with a beer and chips watchin the action. Just wait til u see a break out play from Vick and watch the resentment die down dramatically. Besides there's more important issues in the U.S..
Oh yeah check Phonte from Little Brother and The Foreign Exchange (one of my fav groups) take on the issue from his podcast titled Gordon Gartrell Radio.... Gordon Gartrell Radio ep15
