Random Rant vol.13: 1st black Disney princess
1st we get the first black president in '09, now we get the 1st black princess in '09...Its a long time coming but Disney finally made a black princess for major animated movie, "The Princess and The Frog"...for some reason i was thinkin to myself "Why don't they have a black princess?"...i guess i thought about it because of all the Princess series memorabilla Disney has been putting as of late....i noticed they had a white, native american, indian and asian princesses but where was the black one...i like the disney movies mainly because of the animation and the talent of the artists but sometimes i like the movies itself (fav. Disney movies- Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo)...change takes a while to happen but i'm just glad it finally happened...
when i painted a mural at my cousin's house for his daughter, he wanted a black princess...so i painted a black cinderella but now its good to know that if someone asked me to paint a black princess i can actually paint an actual Disney black princess, named Tiana...Change is good...(Walt is prolly rollin over in his grave [i heard he was a racist, hopefully he wasn't but he prolly was])

Spreadin the real: Eminem - We made you (btw thank you)
When i see the pop culture world is retarded and just lame, I can always depend on Slim Shady to give me laughter and point the idiocy that is pop culture...Just like his previous 3 first singles for his albums, Em drops a comedic first single to get the non-hip hop heads to buy the album...i can't hate on this marketing tactic at all because the rest of his album is nothing like his 1st single...he gotta get people to buy his album...
Looks like Em is on his way to sellin 4 million records when the album drops...damn this vid is bugg...appreciez (that's french for enjoy)...

Nike air penny 1/2 Fall lineup
I'm not a fan of hybrids at all but Nike really did it right the Nike Air 1/2 cent...combining all the design elements of Penny 1 - 4 and Foamposite, Nike created an instant classic shoe to add the already legendary Penny line....i slipped up and dropped 2 bills on the first colorway (that's not shown here) in february 09...the shoe is ill and the comfort is ridiculous ...its the best (no exaggeration) feeling shoe i've ever worn....these are the next colorways for the 1/2 cent....i think i might get the black/altitude green (since i couldn't get the altitude AJ XIII's) and the black on black joints...

Random Rant vol. 12: cdplayer got jacked!!!

WARNING: I WILL BE LACING THIS BLOG WITH FOUL, OBSCENE LANGUAGE
If you read this blog you may kno that i don't like to talk about my personal experiences (i just don't want the world to know my all my business)...but i have let blog readers into a lil bit of my life...i ranted on how i got some sneakers shipped to me and they got jacked off of my stoop (even though i still think USPS just didn't deliver my kicks to the right address)...now not less than an hour ago i discovered i got muhfckn' car got broken into and my cdplayer got jacked while i was at work, in my job's parkin lot....
its only a few things that really piss me off and aggravate me, one of em is stealing shit...i absolutely hate when i get shit stolen from me....lie to me, cheat on me, talk shit about me just don't fuckin steal from me....i fuckin hate that shit...
me and my bro asked my pops one summer afternoon- what would you do if your vintage car got stolen and the judge asked you what the punishment should be once we caught him?...my pops is a no nonsense and basic guy and i'm sure he was not completely serious with this answer but he was pretty convincing...he said the penalty should be "DEATH"...now i know that sounds archaic and extremely drastic but that's how he is (and i like the way he is)...
now i see why he said that because i worked hard to pay for my paint job on the car (done less than 7 mnths ago) and the new cdplayer i just purchased less than 2 months ago...then to have some fucka come and 1) damage the body of my card and 2)steal the cdplayer in 2 minutes aggravates the piss out of me...so to end this tirade i'll say fuck the bastards who stole my shit, fuck the prick who's gonna buy my cdplayer, fuck their car, fuck their mama for birthin them and fuck the horse (in this case their dark colored SUV) they rode in on....COTDAMNIT!!!

Innovations: Super Nintoaster
Innovations: Throat mic

When the bluetooth earpiece came out for a reasonable price it was great...a earpiece without the aggravating wire dangling beside ur face...now there's a "earpiece" where the mic is on your throat (its made by Sanwa)...so i guess if you hafta whisper to who your talkin to they'll be able to hear you loud and clear (when your at church, in class, on the late night creep or on a special ops mission for the gov't)...i don't think i'll cop this cuz i'll look like a weirdo with that thing around my neck, its ill though...

Random Rant vol. 11: March Madness
One of my favorite times of the year is the craziness of college basketball in March...I just wanna say that my work at my job will suffer cuz i'm watching hoops all day...So fill out your brackets and hope that your upsets come to fruition...hopefully since the Final Four will be in Detroit they will get some kinda of revenue cuz its rough in Motown...In case yall didn't know, the average house for purchase is $18,000, that's right $18,000!!! Damn you can buy a car and some sports memorabilla on ebay for more than that....

Innovations: Sixth Sense = Minority Report
You remember when Tom Cruise was in the flick Minority Report....he was using a computer and controlling it with his hands...placing windows, applications and pictures anywhere on the screen with his hands...well that technology is coming sooner than you think...since Gizmodo.com explains the technology well, i'm just goin to post their article...read and be amazed.....
I can't really describe Sixth Sense in a line. Sure, it is a system that projects information about what surrounds you over objects' surfaces, but it's also much more. You just have to watch it:
(If you have the time, you can go through the whole video and Pattie Maes' explanation. If not, go to minute 3:10, where the cool demonstrations begin. There, Pranav Mistry—the MIT student who has implemented Sixth Sense—shows how it works)

Basically, Sixth Sense is a mini-projector coupled with a camera and a cellphone—which acts as the computer and your connection to the Cloud, all the information stored on the web. Sixth Sense can also obey hand gestures, like in the infamous Minority Report.
However, instead of requiring you to be in front of a big screen like Tom Cruise, Sixth Sense can do its magic—and a lot more—everywhere, even while you are jumping hysteric over Oprah's sofa.
However, instead of requiring you to be in front of a big screen like Tom Cruise, Sixth Sense can do its magic—and a lot more—everywhere, even while you are jumping hysteric over Oprah's sofa.
The camera recognizes objects around you instantly, with the micro-projector overlaying the information on any surface, including the object itself or your hand. Then, you can access or manipulate the information using your fingers. Need to make a call? Extend your hand on front of the projector and numbers will appear for you to click. Need to know the time? Draw a circle on your wrist and a watch will appear. Want to take a photo? Just make a square with your fingers, highlighting what you want to frame, and the system will make the photo—which you can later organize with the others using your own hands over the air.
But those are just novelty applications. The true power of Sixth Sense lies on its potential to connect the real world with the Internet, and overlaying the information on the world itself. Imagine you are at the supermarket, thinking about what brand of soap is better. Or maybe what wine you should get for tonight's dinner. Just look at objects, hold them on your hands, and Sixth Sense will show you if it's good or bad, or if it fits your preferences or not.
Now take this to every aspect of your everyday life. You can be in a taxi going to the airport, and just by taking out your boarding pass, Sixth Sense will grab real time information about your flight and display it over the ticket. You won't need to do any action. Just hold it in front of your and it will work.

You won't need to do any action. Just hold it in front of your and it will work.
The key here is that Sixth Sense recognizes the objects around you, displaying information automatically and letting you access it in any way you want, in the simplest way possible.
Clearly, this has the potential of becoming the ultimate "transparent" user interface for accessing information about everything around us. If they can get rid of the colored finger caps and it ever goes beyond the initial development phase, that is. But as it is now, it may change the way we interact with the real world and truly give everyone complete awareness of the environment around us.

Random rant vol.10: The Jordan Rules-G.O.A.T.

I was born in the 80's so I blessed by the basketball gods to allow me view the real "Jesus Shuttlesworth" of the NBA, Michael Jeffrey Jordan in his prime...this rant stems from people across the internet and in real life conversation saying the Kobe "Bean" Bryant is equal or better than Jordan...now don't get me wrong, Kobe is unquestionably the best in the game right now (kinda pains me to say that cuz i'm not a Laker or Kobe fan)...his athletic ability, scoring tenacity and ferocity towards the game are 2nd to none...but lets get serious and stop the comparisons to the "jumpman logo"...
now my facts to support my absolutely truthful claim are 1) Jordan lead his Bulls teams to 6 titles...i think it would have been 8 straight if he didn't retire and try his hand a baseball...2)he dropped 30.7 ppg in an illustrious career against ridiculous defenses...now lets elaborate on this a little...

the defenses in the 80s and 90s were "playground" like...there was legal hand checking on the perimeter, triple team defenses that mauled you when you stepped in the paint and no one got ejected or fined for very aggressive playoff-type fouls...Jordan even had a specific defense geared specifically for him...this defense was implemented by the Detroit "Bad Boys" Pistons in the 80's, it was called the Jordan Rules...basically it was a defense that was designed to curb the scoring from Jordan by beating the shit out of him for 4 qtrs...he faced this destroying defense in the playoffs for 4 consecutive seasons finally beating the Pistons in 91 on their way to the Bulls 1st title...i'm surprised he played 18+ seasons after the thrashing he got for 14 seasons (the NBA started changed the rules in the latter part of his career i.e. no hand checking, no more "knock your head off fouls", quicker whistles) ...check the video....
and 3) his impact on not only basketball but hip hop, fashion and just all around life... to this very day the Jordan sneakers still have kids that didn't see one of his games going to footlocker buying his kicks...i'm in my late 20's and i still pay top dollar for Jordan's the he rocked in yesteryears...before Jordan, the shorts were crazy small and downright disgusting that grown men rocked "nuthuggers" for shorts....Jordan brought baggier shorts to the NBA and when he was in his first dunk contest he rocked a gold rope chain with the banned black/red Air Jordan I kicks (the look still looks "cold" to this day)...
so stop the arguments!... Jordan will never be surpassed just like there will never be another Muhammad Ali or Tiger Woods...they are once in a lifetime, one of a kind athletes

Random rant vol. 9: Opinions are like a@$holes
...everybody's got em....In this day in age where everyone's opinion and view on subjects can be viewed for everyone to see, people are under the impression that they are experts...i read only two message boards everyday (itsbx.com -hip hop board and niketalk.com - sneaker board) and that's enough for me...on itsbx i read these "reviews" on hip hop albums and everyone throws their two cents in...now don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion but i don't like that everyone thinks that they're expert analysts...(even on niketalk people complain about a sneaker's minor and complete insignificant design flaws)
my question is how can you have a opinion on an album after 1 full listen...i'll read some comments on album like the production needs to be better, its not mastered correctly, rapper "so and so" needs to rap better like last album...damn, just listen to the album and say if you like it or not...now if an album genuinely sucks then say it stinks... but when i see people talkin bout the album is not that good when it clearly it is because of minor flaws, that's annoying....
the same thing applies to movies...people may even be more critical on movies...message board dorks get on the keyboard and peck all types of foolishness complaining about lighting, audio, the key grip, the assistant to the assistant director's role in the movie and other ridiculousness (i know that's not a word but it fits for this rant)...it reminds me of the Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back flick where little 12-year olds bitch about the Bluntman and Chronic film (and that was a movie i liked that was clearly silly and sophmoric, but funny)...if you like the movie say you like it and stop nick-picking retarded, insignificant factors of the movie...
by the way the movie Belly that Hype Williams directed back in '98 sucked ass...i mean the lighting was all dark, the cinematography was stupid, the writing was lackluster and the acting was piss poor....What!? don't judge me
as the days of my life stack up, I notice i'm turning more and more into the crabby complaining old man on the stoop...LOL
