Innovations: Throwback toy-Super Soaker 50

Its amazin that the first Super Soaker came out 20 years ago in '89 (this is showing my age)...I remember when my big cousin Late (aka Slab Judah for those in the know) had this exact one...i jumped on board the Super Soaker phenomenon when the 100 and 150 came out (I even bought the big joint that looked like a bazooka that weighed damn near 20 pounds filled with water. I paid 40 dollars for a "F'n" watergun, Wow!)

the 40 dollar gun, the CPS 2000

...those water gun fights were good times (saying 'good times' in the voice of the character Alec Baldwin played in "Along came Polly")...Hasbro is bringing it back for us young kids at heart as a 20th anniversary edition...

Also since we're in February, Black history month, i'll drop some history on yall....the Super Soaker was invented by a black rocket scientist named Lonnie Johnson...the Super Soaker has sold a billion dollars worth of Super Soakers since it hit the market, a billion with a B...check the video....

Stuff of hilarity: Joe Budden vs. Joell Ortiz

In case you haven't known Joe Budden (one of the world's most underrated known MCs) is a solo artist but also part of the lyrical supergroup Slaughterhouse along with other ill MC's Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce the 5'9"...Joe is on his web tv show talkin to Joell about havin a footrace and its quite amusing...especially since Joell is 250 plus lbs and actually thinks he can beat Joe Budden (who prolly is 180 lbs if that) in a footrace...watch the hilarity

Random Rant pt. 8.1: Puffy is poison

This will not be a long well thought out rant as previously written... Rather a follow up to the madness that is Diddy... This is somethin that was passed to me by my good brohiem (I know that's not spelled correctly, i'm tryin to say brother) about another individual on the 'net that feels the same way I do...check the vid, its chuckle laughter funny....

oh yeah he also kcuf'd over - B5 (another attempt at the boy/girl band genre, hideous again) and New Edition (how did he mess that one up miserably. At least he gave someone a job after he screwed the group over "Michael Bivins in Making the Band 4")...now he has the nerve to say DJ's messed up hip-hop, nah negro you had a hand in it too...a big Andre the Giant hand...

Random rant pt. 8: Bad Boy aka Rapin U Records

P. Diddy, Diddy, Puff, Puffy, Puff Daddy, Poppa Diddy, Pop Puff Diddy Doo- whatever he wants to call himself is one of the "shot callers" (90's hip hop slang reference) in the entertainment business today. Notice I didn't say music industry. In the 90's Bad Boy was one of the premier labels in hip hop and really the music industry. But one thing that rang true was the departure of bad boy artists leaving left and right. Case in point, the L.O.X. is one my fav groups of yesteryear and today (can't wait for the Jadakiss - Kiss My Ass album oh I mean The Last Kiss album)...they got in a heated struggle with Diddy years ago because they wanted out of the contract...why would they want out of the label when the dropped a platinum album (Money, Power, Respect), the cash should have been rollin in...well like most artists in the music biz they get paid pennies and Bad Boy was no different when it came to paying their artists...

Made clear from the comical interlude on The L.O.X's 2000 sophmore album (damn its almost been 10 years since they came out with a group album) Rapin U Records, the "fictious" label doesn't pay their artists shit...clearly it was a jab at Bad Boy records for not paying artists what they righfully deserved...this has to be true because the L.O.X. aren't the only people complaining about how they were treated (sidebar: the L.O.X. just received their rightful publishing for the Money, Power, Respect album just a few years ago)....mismanagement, low pay or little or no promotion seems to be Puff's M.O....lets look at the gaggle of artists that left the label or are on the backburner for some reason or another....

Babs from Da Band
Chopper aka Young City from Da Band
Ness from Da Band
Da Band
Black Rob (locked up again for robbery, if he was paid he prolly wouldn't hafta to do that)
Cheri Dennis
Mario Winans
Cassie (needs to just model she dropped 2 songs in 08 and heard no buzz and Wayne was on 1)
Mark Curry
Craig Mack (he might still be signed, i know he's disgruntled if he is tho)
Carl Thomas
Dream (puff's attempt on a girl group during the girl/boy band craze, hideous)
Danity Kane
Faith Evans
Fuzzbubble (don't know who the F this is)
G. Dep
Joe Hooker
Loon
Mase
The Notorious B.I.G. (R.I.P., I heard he was gonna leave the label eventually before he died)
112
Shyne (locked up 10 years, Diddy didn't help him during the trial at all)
Tonya Blount
Total
8Ball and MJG (how did he fuck that up, the already got a fan base and they still didn't sell)
Elephant Man (may still be on the label, but i know he's disgruntled too)
Day26 (soon to be gone)
and prolly every body who was on the album liner on the "Saga continues..."album

Mark Curry who was on the label is now speaking out against P. Diddy and how he was treated...

I don't think Puffy cares that much about the music anymore because it just doesn't generate as much cash as Ciroc, Bad Boy Films (Mtv shows), his acting, Sean John clothing label...so with that in mind he just rapes artist for as much money as he can get out of em

Now, this is only a rant and public service announcement to anyone who's thinkin bout signing as a music artist to Bad Boy- don't sign cuz if you do "you can't escape the rape...they'll be rapin' u rapin, u rapin, u" (listen to track 10 of the "We are the streets" album to get a clearer picture)

check this too...

Random Rant pt. 7: Jordan got jacked

On this blog i don't like to get personal and talk about what I ate, who I saw and when i'm going to the mall...but right now i'm bout to vent and talk about what happened to me (put the kids to bed cuz i'm bout to let loose with profane language)...

i ordered the above AJ I high straps blk/red/wht kicks from ebay about 3 weeks ago...i paid a hard earned 170 plus dollars for these limited gems...i got em shipped to my crib and I tracked em everyday...the kicks were sent from GA and i'm in Charlotte, NC so I knew that with them being USPS priority mail they will get here in 2 days...the seller sent them Monday and they got here Wednesday bout 11 am... I was at work and saw they were delivered and went home during lunch time (12 noon) to pick em up from my front porch...

to my disappointment not a cotdamn package was on the step...so i figured it might be delivered the next day...i did the same thing and nothing was on the muhfukin' porch....i contacted USPS for a solid 2 weeks and they said "we did deliver it"...So logically the only thing that could have happened is someone stole my cotdamn 170 dollar muhfuckin Jordans from off the porch as soon as they were delivered...so fuck USPS for delivering it and leaving it (even tho that's what they were supposed to do since no signature was required), fuck the person for stealing my kicks (dick in the booty ass bastards), fuck the seller for selling the Jordans to me (no logical reason why I say fuck you to him cuz he did nothin wrong) and damn me for not gettin insurance on the package (hindsight is 20/20)...I pissed away 170 plus dollars, COTDAMNIT!!!...i'm done

Spreadin the real: Charles Hamilton vs. Serius Jones

I dig some of Charles Hamilton's music (those damn songs on his mixtapes/ep's are all long as hell tho, 6 to 7 min. tracks) but when it comes to battlin' he can't compete with Serius Jones...that dude Serius Jones is ridiculous off the top, i've seen too many joints to say he's not the best battle/true freestyle rapper out...check it

Protect your computer from this "BS"

Now i'm bout to get my computer geek on...i recently (bout a month ago now) got it with the infamous WinDefender 2009 zlob trojan virus...this shit is extremely aggravating because a pop up will come up at anytime and say that your comp. needs to be cleaned and remove spyware and you need to download WinDefender 2009...if you got this "horseshit" then go to this link and follow the directions to get rid of it...

the program that this link tells you to download and install is super because it detects and removes malware that even the best anti-virus cannot detect...your welcome

Play Cloths and the Clipse

One of my fav. groups in the game right now is The Clipse...they just released the new clothing line called Play Cloths...i'm kinda feelin their brand and might cop some stuff...really diggin the logo...

I can get down with the t-shirt prices too because BBC prices are simply ridiculous...their designs are unique and original but I cannot imagine payin 80 dollars for a thin cotton t-shirt (in Double XX Posse cadence - "not gon be able to do it")

Random Rant pt. 6: Fresh Prince = hip hop?

With hip-hop kinda on the upswing when it comes to talent and originality, I just wanna address the topic: Is or was Will Smith hip hop?...Now I must admit the Fresh Prince has made some extremely pop songs (pop is what i dispise) that I've found immensely catchy. [SIDEBAR: I remember when Men in Black came out in '97 I believe and Will came out with the title track for the sdtk. and I knew every word including the corny dance that was on the video...i liked that cut]...

Now back to the question at hand, to me the Fresh Prince is hip hop...Now he is not the hip-hop of KRS-One, Rakim or Jay-Z, but he is hip hop...For instance, his tv show that ran for over 6 seasons was the first national broadcast show that heavily incorporated hip hop into the show...in the theme song he's spitin, his clothes especially in the early seasons were hip hop inspired and the guest cast members were either hip hop influenced artists (queen latifah, dj jazzy jeff, BBD) or actors that the hip hop community embraced (Tisha Campbell, Don Cheadle, Jasmine Guy, Nia Long)

When it comes to his lyrical content, the Fresh one doesn't have gun talk, trap rap, tough bravado or even braggadicio lyrics about his wealth...But you must admit his bubble gum content does show his lyrical skill...his delivery is nice and he can flow over a track...one of the greatest summer tracks of all time is "Summertime" and he flowed nicely over the Jazzy Jeff produced track...with the garbage content and talent that some of these rappers spit over the airwaves, you've gotta admit that Mr. Smith can actually rap...just because he doesn't curse and say all types of outlandish, far fetched gansta folklore (though i do like and listen to this type of rap, "its just entertainment") doesn't mean he isn't hip hop...

Also his former running mate is one of the best producers in hip hop still (go cop the The Magnificent and The Return of the Magnificent)...just that alone solidifies the Fresh Prince status as a hip hop artist...not to mention he opened the flood gates for hip hop artists to become silver screen stars...

If Lil Jon can be considered hip-hop when he barely even raps on a track then for damn sho Will Smith can be hip-hop...

P.S. - Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff were the first artists on Yo! MTV raps...c'mon give him some respect
